Tops!

I have had a hard time of finding 1940's style of blouses. I can find dresses. Sometimes finding those are easier and cheaper (in my mind I'm paying more, but for a whole outfit so it evens out because I don't have to go out and buy pants or a skirt). I haven't gotten a chance to try these on in Wal-Mart as of yet, but I will update this post when I get the chance to (probably this weekend).

The softness of the material, combined with the shape of the sleeves and the strong shoulders remind me of something Agent Carter would wear.

Hot pink blouse
I just love the tie and the little puffs and cuffs on the sleeves! Such class! The color is a bit bold, but it would be perfect for summer! I don't know if those are pleated lines running parallel to the buttons, beneath the bust or if it's just a shadow or fold but it would be great if it was a pleat because that would just scream 1940's to me!

What a gorgeous blouse! I can see this blouse tucked in to a high wasted A-line skirt and boom! 1940's baby! It also comes in a lovely sage green.

Polka dots
Who doesn't like polka dots, first of all? This blouse maintains the strong shoulder and soft neckline of the 40's. Again, I would tuck this blouse into a pair of high wasted, wide legged trousers. It comes it several colors, including a very pretty mauve with tan polka dots.

All of these blouses can be found at Wal-Mart! And all for under $20. Can I hear a hallelujah? To me getting a full fledged vintage outfit is only half the fun. It's so much more fun to treasure hunt for them. It's also a heck of a lot cheaper! Take a look at these similar shirts that I found on Modcloth.

Now don't get me wrong, The material and fit could very well be superior to those found in Wal-Mart. At this point I've never owned anything from Modcloth so I can't say for sure. But even so, it's difficult for me to spend so much on one article of clothing. But that's just me :) So there you have it! I'm not entirely sure how to end this first blog post. Cheerio!
